This event is presented by La Luz Center, Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). Authentic Food, Music, Mariachi, Dance, Theater Performance and Dancers.

We are recruiting a team of Cinco de Mayo Volunteers to help us in the delivery of a range of activities, and we’d love you to be a part of it. This is a brilliant opportunity to help visitors and community members to the Cinco de Mayo in Sonoma Plaza make the most of their experience. Training will be provided to ensure you feel happy and confident in your role and, where possible we’ll work with you to find a volunteering job to suit your availability and interest.

This family friendly fiesta transforms the historic plaza into a bustling mercado with artisan makers, vibrant decor, dozens of food and drink options, and live performances throughout the day. This celebration also gives attendees the opportunity to learn more about our "cultural heart" with educational stations throughout the plaza.
